Hi there..
first of all I´d like to introduce myself. My name is Isabelle and I´m from Germany. I´m 25 years old and I really need to improve my English.
I´m going to get my Abitur (don´t know what´s that in English ) at a night school. So English is my 4th subject and I need to talk a lot! My biggest problem is not the grammar but the vocabulary. Has anyone an idea how I can improve this?! I already read a lot of books in English, but it doesn´t seem to get better....
I NEED HELP! Please!?!
I need a little help...

Re: I need a little help...
I do not know if there is a special word for our German word "Abitur"
I wanna say: A-levels, final examination, Higher School Certificate, Graduation, school leaving examinations.
But I am sure we even find a better expression
With regard to your notation: I would say evening classes.
But maybe I get it wrong?
A personal question: What are you going to study?

Benutzt die Suche hier im Forum und ihr werdet mehrere nützliche Formulierungen bzgl. Abitur und Schulabschluß finden.
I'm attending (adult) evening classes to earn an "Abitur" certificate (German high-school leaving certificate).
- ask people to correct you (try to insist on it politely)
- don't worry to much about making mistakes
- but remember the corrections of your tandem partner

Du kannst auch bei den lokalen Hochschulen (ASTA, Fachschaften, Sprachenzentrum ...) nach Kontakten mit englischen Muttersprachlern fragen.
Bedenke, das die ausländischen Studenten häufig auch nach Möglichkeiten suchen ihr Deutsch zu verbessern.
Please be more careful to use words with proper capitalisation and not to use slang (wanna)
especially when you are trying to provide advice to someone.

I'd say:
school leaving examinations = Abschlußprüfungen
final examination = Abschlußprüfung
A-levels ~ Abitur
high-school graduation ~ Abitur
graduation = Abschluß...
high-school leaving certificate => das Dokument
But I am sure we can find a better expression.

...is supplied without liability.

Sorry, but I did not know that the word "wanna" is a slang expression.
And with regard to my English knowledge. As they saying goes: "Rome wasn't built in a day either"
