question concerning home-grown terrorist movements

Beitrag von HDarius »

hello would be very nice if some1 is able to mark my mistakes :_)

The programme suggest that home-grown terrorist movement
have profilerated in Western countries.
What do you think has been, or could be,
the impact of home- grown terrorist movements
on the political, social and cultural structures in
those countries?

I think the impacts of home-grown terrorist
movements do cover a wide spectrum .
First of all, if there are growing numbers of
terrorist-groups in one country, the politicians will
pass bills in order to ensure safety to citizens.
Such laws, which effects personal freedom in a negative
way, will grow in number.
It was not until the 11th of September, that individual
rights were restrickted, through, for example, bills, as
the patriot act is.
Furthermore will this fuel the tentions between native
and muslim people. Stereotype either on the muslim or
on the native side will be accepted much easier. With
people getting more and more awash with information
about terrorism it will be only a matter of time until
an attitude of fear and cliche arise.

Hello!
It would be very helpful if someone would correct my mistakes :)
Thank you in advance.

I think, home-grown terrorist movements can have an impact on
a wide spectrum of the political, social and cultural structures
.

First of all, if there are a growing numbers of terrorist-groups in a country,
the politicians will probably try to pass bills in order to ensure the safety of the citizens.

The laws, which effect their personal freedom in a negative way,
will increase the number of protesters/terrorists.

E.g. it was not until the events on 11th of September 2001,
that individual rights were restrickted in such a vast way by bills such as the Patriot Act.

Furthermore, this fueled the tentions between Americans and the Muslim people.

Stereotypes on either side were easily accepted in this situation.

With more and more people getting awash in information about terrorism
it will only be a matter of time until an attitude of fear and cliches arises.[/b]
