British Empire- a Source of Pride

1.How does Lawrence James see the British Empire and how do critics of British imperialism see it?

L-J. have full confident about B.E. He compliements the BE. for what they did all over the world in reference to their colonies in Africa,Asia,Nordamreica and so on.He said that the B.soldiers invand the countries to stop unhuman traditionon human like to sacrifice them. Not the people in that contry lost somethink he mentionen the enormous soldiers who were tough enough to stay their in different weather condition, who rather died there like Lord Lugard or Duke of Wellington , but they did not forget the values and norm and they didn't to anything againt this rules, they retained that.B.E. just stay there to help the people in their colony to create a self-government,indepent from them:that was there plan from the very first.

The oppoite side have seeb the B.E as a regime which destroy so many countries, in reference of their culture,And Nowadays problems have his seed in the time of the B_E.Many colony are now demanding a compensantion from the British .

2.The writer describes the characteristics of members of the colonial service. Make a list of all the characteristics metioned in the text ans sad how credible you find james's view.

A young man named Duke Wellingtonhe is mentioned in the text as a man who stands for good values and present peace and harmony, he said that he will sacrifice a invanted area in INDIA then to give it his beliefs off.
An other young man ,named Lord Lugard ,positioned in Afrika suffered a tropical fever, as he wonded by poisoned arrow. At least he sample the foundation of Uganda, nigeria , and his wish for what that the people shall live in peace that was their main job that's why they were fighting for.

3.What reasons for the dissolution of the Empire are mentioned in the text?

They said that the B.E. have detroyed themselves. There plan was that their colonies shall at least govern themselves. So their plan contaied a self-destroyes point. The British awaited that the people kick them out of the country.Todaythis countriey also know as Commonwealth.

4.What is your own personal reaction to James's view of the British Empire?

I think that J. overact to much. The history show us how much blood shedded (vergoßen)and not just in one country. It's true The B.E. have clarified many folks to give their unhuman tradition up or have built many essentials bulding like schools and hospital in favour of the people. But they shameless capitalized their unskilled not at all they als capitalized the minral resources. In India they exploit the caste system they don't do sth against it.They appreciate this thought, during the B.E. it was profit for them to have eople under them who not worth like them

2.The writer describes the characteristics of members of the colonial service. Make a list of all the characteristics metioned in the text and say how credible you find james's view.

The text mentions a young man by the name of Duke Wellington, who represents good values, such as harmony and peace. His intention is to convey these beliefs to an invaded area in India.

Another young man, by the name of Lord Lugard, is positioned in Africa. After being wounded by a poisoned arrow, he suffers from tropical fever. At least he sample the foundation of Uganda, nigeria , (?!?) His wish is for the people to live in peace, thus reminding them what they are fighting for.

3.What reasons for the dissolution of the Empire are mentioned in the text?

By allowing their colonies to govern themselves, the B.E. set up a self-destructive plan. Accordingly, their intention was for the native people to remove the colonists from their turf.
