According to the UN – enviromental program (UNEP), prevails an investmentboom in the areas of renewable energies and energy efficiency. Especially in wind- and solar energy will be invested. Reasons for that development are the rising oil prices and the increased efficiency who also led to the fact that in 2007 the amount of investments in renewable energies has risen about 60 % to 148 billions dollars. This trend will continue in the future, too. Most of the money would be spent with 50, 2 billion dollars in wind energy (more than in hydro energy and nuclear power). On the other hand solar power is since 2004 the most growing industry with 254 %. Europe has the highest growth in renewable energies, followed by the US. But countries like China, India and some others are sticking up. For example China has invested in hydro power, 10, 8 billion dollars. So you can see that the future of clean power supply has begun.
