Child labour during the Industrial Revolution in the 19's was very hard for children. They started to work in the years of six. This children were often orphan. They must work in mills or coal mines, which were very darkness, loud and dangerous. They started at 6 in the morning and often work till 8 or even 11 at night. If they are not quick enough, they were beaten.
If they work in a coal mine , 40 metres down , they must push the carts a mile or more underground in the dark and back. They get cough from the dust made at lathe . Often there are children. who died in the coal mines. Other children had to work in mills like a wool mill, they must pick up the fallen wool or repair it while the machines are working.
