Hey everybody!

@Kid A How was your trip to Munich?

I've never been there..actually I haven't been to lots of big cities except for London.
I spent a few days there with my family last year. It was kind of a dream come true, because I'm so enthusiastic about the language and all the great music that comes from Great Britain.
So this trip was just erfect, thought hard because we tried to see everything there is to see in only two days..this wasn't really possible.*g*

Fortunately I could go there again in summer, when I took part in summer course in Folkestone. You stay in host families and have courses with native speakers in the morning and activities in the afternoon. I was very lucky with my family and I also met lots of nice people.
The activities included trips to London and whenever I could I went there.Together with a friend I discovered great record shops in Soho..and going by tube was always much fun. :D

Hello, hello, it's good to be back :D .
Wow, I'm absolutely amazed. Munich is the greatest town I've ever seen!
Unfortunately it rained nearly all the time, but we never mind. I saw the most important sights, the best café ever and had a good time in the hotel where we stayed.
Everybody who hasn't been there until today should take the first chance to go there. Very great city.

@nimolth: I'm really impressed. A summer course in England! How wonderful must that be? I think about such an holiday very often, but in the end it's too expensiv. I've got two brothers and if my parents would give me the money for an England trip, it would be pretty unfair. And before I start to safe money for my holidays, I always find other things I'd like to have and I buy them instead. Vicious circle.
But in Munich were good record stores , too.

@Ulrike: Well, I'm living in the Saarland, it's only a few kilometer from France and the students here have to learn the language in Primary school and mostly as their first foreign language in Grammar School. I hate it and I dropped the subject this year.
I met some American students in Munich, but unfortunately I didn't have the time to talk longer than a few minutes, because our program was a bit stressy.

@Hi obelixx! I don't think that I can help you that much, but I think it's just useful to talk to each other in English. Keep on rockin'!

Having French as an obligatory subject , just because you live near France must be terrible.I'm really sorry for you,you know,it's not your fault to live there!*g*

I have French as a second foreign language and will keep it. I thought about choosing Spanish instead of it,but then I preferred to keep it and try to improve it. Actually I like languages, but I don't know why,I'm never motivated in French lessons...quite bad, because I want to be..but I'm not.
I can't help it. :?:  8)
At the moment we're doing literature,I like the book so it's more fun.

I tried to learn once french on a web site but was boggled down with all the various pronouniations and obtriusive manner of speaking with the tongue, i guess it wasnt so bad learning the words just the pronunication threw me off there :P

I always found english and german easier since their alapahet are so symbolic to each other and german only having 4 extra letters than english and those letters can even be subsittied into normal letters like ss, oe, etc :P

listening to french rap is as far as I will travel into the path of grasping french

You're right. When I came to the Grammar School, I couldn't choose between French, English or Latin. But for 3 years now, the new pupils have been given the possibillity, because the school system has changed. We've got "G8" now.
I'm really sure that French is an important language. Not many pupils have got a graduation in French, unlike in English.
But I had Geography lessons in French AND normal French lessons and my French teacher is also my class teacher. I hate him, he behaves like a king, and he is already too old for his job.
But I shouldn't care anymore, I have to write just one more test, and that was it then.

@nimloth: My English teacher says Spanish will be THE language of the future, like English at the moment. I'm not really sure if he's right, but if I had to decide if I learn a completely new language or French, I also would have chosen French.

Spanish the language of the future..I can't imagine that, honestly.
English is mother tongue in America,GB,Australia, also spoken in South Africa and easy,so it is this world language and that popular.
It will be taught in primary school soon..but well,I'm no expert.

Some people say future lanuages are chinese and japanese, because all the technique things come from Asia. I don't hope so..

I dont think it would be chinese or japanese because as much technology is made there it still wont change, those lanaguages always remain in asia never seen it flourish in many other countries out of asia

spanish is number one language growing in america beside english because back here where i live, they are the #1 immigrants coming in thats why lol

and arabic seems to be a needy knowledge soon because of countries having so much involvment in middle east now

but english will always be the international use nevertheless how many or how few may or may not use it, because most countries require people to take it in school nowadays

Well, I think my English teacher wanted to say that especially French is less important than Spanish. :-)
English will stay the language of the world, no need for any discussions, I personally think.
Is English really going to be taught in Primary school? Really great!
But it would be good (or maybe better) if the pupils were given the possibillity to decide by themselves what the want to learn, wouldn't it?

The problem with the Japanese languages would be the writing. I mean- I'm not willing to learn hundreds or even thousands of symbols! And I'm surely not the only one. People who live in America would probably even prefer German instead of Japanese!

@Ulrike: I'm really sorry: I forgot to answer your question: Naturally I saw the Viktualienmarkt! To my mind not the best place in Munich, but it's quite beautiful and there, I had the greatest "Chips&Chicken" I've ever eaten...

Yeah, I have already been to Cologne. I met my penfriend there last October and it was quite beautiful there. But some of the streets there are very narrow and there seem to be more tourists than in any other city. Not always a pleasure to buy clothes or records there.
In August, my penfriend and I are going to meet there again- and then we want to play the guitar on the street and sing along. Just for fun. It's a big event for us, only my mother is not very pleased about our plan, but we're completely convinced that it would be great to do that, so I don't think my mother can't stop us. 8)

Yeah, Munich has got its own atmosphere. I've never thought Germany could be so exciting, but these days were some of the best in my life.
I would like to see other countries, too, but until today, I just have been to the Netherlands and to France. Not that cool there, even if I like the south of the France very much.
But I'm still young...let my grow a little older and I'm gonna come! :P

I know I shouldn't tell my mother, but I'm too honest! I feel better if she gives me her "okay" after a long discussion than doing it without asking while I perfectly know that she wouldn't have permitted it if I had asked. D'you know what I mean?

Rome must be quite exciting. I took part in a Latin-competition a few months ago and we had to learn some things about Rome. I hope I will see this city some time, I heard it must be very beautiful there.
The most beautiful place on earth I've ever seen was in Provence. I went there twice, and even if it's sometimes very hot, it's an amazing part of France.
We stayed in a monastery, which had a huge ground. It was a trip for teenager and we were able to use this ground for games or for walks. That might sound boring now, but I loved it...

:P Nice idea! I swear I will tell you when we're going there. I also hate it to play in front of an audience, but everytime I did that, there were people in front of me I knew. If I stayed in front of unknown people, I wouldn't be that nervous, I think. Because then I don't mind if they like it or not- I will probably never see them again, so f*ck off.
That's the reason why I'm so happy to do that. Together with my penfriend (and maybe with you, nimloth  ), it will be one of the greatest events I can imagine. Waah! I-WANT-TO-DO-THAT!!

you're learning to play the guitar, too? Good God! That sounds like we're sisters or something...unbelievable! That's so great!
How long have you been learning the guitar now? I've been playing since I was 9. Erm...that equals roughly 7 years now. :) I just love it. I can't survive a day without this instrument...
