I say only south america.....
Yeah, one Church has made many horrible things in many countries around the world. But I am sure it wasn't directed by God, but men. And we all know what disastrous things can men perform when they don't have love in their hearts.

I do believe in God because I don't know how I couldn't believe in something which I know is the truth. How I know that it is the truth? My experiences match every word written in the bible. Our God is a living, loving **and** speaking God. Without God's speaking we couldn't know anything of him. But with his speaking we are able to perceive how he is and what the truth of life is.

may i ask what religion you belong to?

i def. believe in god. imho he gave us the bible as his word to guide us. sure it is not always easy but i give my best to live my life according to the bible. there are many things giving us proof that there is a god. short example:

two pencils. the one has a print "made in germany". so you clearly see it was produced in germany. the other hasn't that print. sure, it emerged from itself! know what i mean?

just because there is no sign "made by god" on the plants, animals or the humans it is no proof for a non existing creator/god.

faith is a undescribable thing. either you believe or you don't. faith is the basis for everything. you simply can't argue why you believe in god or the bible if you don't have faith. that's what i think.

I'm a committed christian. I've been believing in Christ since about 18 years. When I was 25 I decided to believe in God. I wished to be able to believe in Him like children do. That was what I noticed about others and what made me envious.

By the way: I guess we live pretty close together. I also live "suedlich von Stuttgart".

I don't believe in god. because scientific development proves that god is an imagination of human, where science cannot answer sufficiently, the god is existing there. When god was prevalent in human thought then science was not develped. All religion thought has developed at the [pre scientific era.
So god is a fictitous thing. Now believe in god represents all prejudices and reactionary thinking.

Hello :)
I think, faith is a very strong power. You can make heaven or hell on earth, it depends on what you think or believe. I don´t believe that it is important if you call it God or something else. If you are engaged with religions you recognize that they all tell the same basic things. I think, the way you live is important. That´s what I believe in.

I am Bible-loyal Christian. 16,5 years ago, I had a mighty meeting with God after a prayer: God if you exist show it too me now, and I was led by God's spirit as a result so that I handed over my live to Jesus.

Since I was involved for myself relieved God in at that time into occult things for piece from demonic forces. I became also free from strong smoking thank God's help during one night . I would want not to do any more breath without knowing that be a loved child of God and that Jesus died for all my personal responsibility at the cross of Golgatha.

God's blessing for you all, Jesus lives and there is everlasting live for those who give there life in the hands of God.
I am sorry, but there is a limit to what I can take seriously. I don't think that seeing has to be believing, but the "I have a hotline to God" line I cannot stand. If God exists and is benevolent, then why doesn't he make himself useful and end world hunger or something. I can accept the possibility of an non-all powerful God, but that is all.

And how did Jesus help us anyway? If God is such a nice guy, why doesn't he just forgive us all anyway rather than kill his son?

Apologies for the way I view this, but I think you are either an attension-seeker or you have somehow managed to delude yourself into believing you had a meeting with God. You are welcome to your beliefs, this is just my opinion.

God isn't responsible for the bad things in the world, it's us who do it ... God has given us our free will, and since man has sinned for the first time we were separated from God because we didn't listen to what he said ... But since Jesus we can receive forgiveness from him, and when we believe in him and want to live with him he'll help us, he doens't push himself into people's lives if they don't believe in him/if the don't want him .... People always ask why God doesn't help ... Well, God is no machine or someone you can ask for help and then forget again ... It's us who brought the bad into the world and it's God who wants to help us and save us ...
But according to you GOD made US. Saying what you said is like saying "I made a machine and gave it the power to choose to become good or evil or somewhere in the middle. I was really annoyed when it chose evil."

If god God made us then:

God gave us the potential to make evil
God gave us greed
God gave us arrogance
God gave us cruelty

My point is that, if I use the story of the garden of Eden as an example, GOD is the one who made the tree of knowledge. If he didn't want the first people to eat its apples why did he not just destroy it? Or prevent us from eating the apples.

If God is good and decent then he would do a LOT more good in the world and help everyone out more, end poverty etc. Now it weems to me there are three alternatives:

1)God is not all powerful. If this is the case I fully apologise to God and accept that he is not able to help us. However, if he can help some of us, why can he not help all of us?

2)God does not exist.

3)God is not all benevolent. He allows cruelty to happen and watches it do so.

If anyone has a number 4 I would be interested in hearing it.

#4 = maybe that God IS both - benevolent and cruel. God is everything, is everywhere.
At least this is what I read, just cannot remember where

.... I am not that religious, but I do believe in God.

How is it possible to be both benevolent and cruel? I appreciate that if God did indeed exist he could create seemingly impossible paradoxes, but if he is benevolent he cannot be cruel as well as that would go against all his teachings. That is why I think maybe, if he exists, God is like humans in that he has other emotions than love like anger etc.

Actually I really do...you know, when I was little...I used to think that God was there to help everyone..so, I thought if I prayed to God every night, all my dreams would come true..but as I grew older I had to face that life isn't just always gonna be fair and that even if we really believed in him, he's not always gonna help us ..you know, my life sucks right now..it really does..unfortunately because of my dad..and by unfortunately I mean, that it shouldn't suck about a person that's supposed to be in your life..you know..he's always gonna be your dad..he's gonna be there wether you like it or not..and that's what makes it so hard..you know..the point is..that when I was about five I had this really perfect relationship with him..we used to play games and make silly things..it's all easier when you're little..you remember how your mom alway told you not to talk to strangers or take things..they told us because they knew that kids believed in that fairytale world, full of greatness, trust and love..and just as I got older I realized that the real world is just the opposite of perfect..and that's also the day when I realized that he's never gonna be that dad I thought he was and wished he'd be..maybe you think I'm crazy right now..but all was better when I believed that God could change people..yeah..maybe he even can..but I think he's not supposed to and that he wanted people to learn about their faults and to realize it by themselves..but what if they don't, you know..what if they never realize what kinds of people they really are??so, yes..I believe in God..I really do..but for me believing in God means..to believe in yourself and trust him in what he does. Because as much as I believe in God I also believe that life is gonna get better someday..

i think there are many many things that give proof of god's existence.

a computer processor is designed and built by humans. no one would ever say it came into being by itself. but what about our brain? let's compare it with the cpu. it is certainly even more complex and extensive but still people say that we and the earth + universe came into existence by evolution.

as for me, i can't believe that there's no god.

so many things were copied from nature as you all know (see "bionics")

birds / aeroplanes
eye / camera (lense)
whale / u-boat
...

i believe in god as already mentioned a few weeks ago. and i believe that god's given the bible as his guidance for mankind.

why does he allow all evil? he's set a day where he will destroy all evil. and only the good people, the bible calls them "the righteous", will posses the earth.

he is in all ways benevolent and affectionate. he doesn't want any to be destroyed but wishes that all people return from evil to good.

when you read the bible you don't only find points to criticise god but rather evidence for a) his existence, b) his will and purpose for earth and all of us, c) why he allows evil today...

maybe this is going a bit (too) far but i wanted it that way..
