"new blood" findet man zwar in LEO. Hab ich in dem Kontext aber noch nie gehört. Heißt natürlich nichts.

"offspring" wäre eine Möglichkeit.

Ich denke aber, dass auch "offspring" in diesem Kontext eher ungewöhnlich ist. Eher in Kontexten wie "How are your offspring?"

Gleichwohl:

"They announced the birth of their offspring"

Ich denke aber, dass

"They announced the birth of their son/daughter".

üblicher ist.

Yeah that is what I thought. Because it sounds unusual. I read it in the leo dictionary, too and I was confused, because my hostmum said that she has never heard about it. And I thought it might be british english, but when you think the same then I am pacified. Thanks by the way
