Hello Krauts (that's what our canadian professor calls us)!
I'm a 21-year-old student in Dortmund and I have to improve my English. I've always been good in English but it's not enough for university although I took the professiency course in school.
I want to become teacher for English in primary school but I have to study exactly the same as highschool teachers for the first 6 semesters.
The goal is set, time to reach it
Best wishes,
Jan

Your goals are very interesting. Good luck & good nerves - now for your studies and later on if you'll stand opposite your first school class.
Sorry, I'm a bit nosy, Froop - what's the reason for your wish to become an English teacher? And what second field of study did you choose?

My second subject is maths.
And I want to become a teacher because I wanted a work where I can "reach something" (:-/). If I worked in a factory maybe I could say "Hey I've put this seat in the car", but that is not enough for me. I want to see the results of my work in a different context.
The next reason is that I can deal well with kids and I can explain things better than others do. So my friends said that I would be a great teacher...
And here I am I already started a practical training in primary school and I have so much fun! It's so great to stand in front of the class and 25 children staring at you with big eyes. They want to learn something, they're hungry! That's cool But of course I know that it is not always the case...
