Hallo!

Introduction:
The purpose of this report is to describe the positive and negative aspects of two different forms of advertising in my country. It will also include the effectiveness of these methods and make recommondations for improvements.
Television Advertising:
A very large section of the Advertising Industry in Austria generates advertisements for Television, since it is one of the most powerful advertising medium. In fact, TV advertisements have an amazing impact – people can remember slogans long after the spot is over. Moreover, advertisements are often fun to see, because they can be very entertaining.
Most of the people, however, zip away when they come across an advertisement on TV. Additionally, commercials are an annoying interruption of TV programmes. Worst of all is, that advertisements are persuasive and they are a form of brainwashing. For example, advertising creates demand for things we don´t really need.
Leaflets:
Another form of advertising is direct mailing. The companies get a list of names and addresses an send leaflets to those people who might be interested in their products. Some people find this direct mailing irritating, wasteful and unsightly, so the leaflets land in the rubbish bin.
On the other hand, advertisements are an important source of information for the public and with direct mailing, a large group of people can be informed about certain products or services.
Recommondations:
In order to combat against the negative attitude towards direct mailing, companies should stop sending out mass leaflets. The length of TV commercials should be reduced, so that people are not so much annoyed, when a movie is interrupted.

Das haben Sie sehr gut geschrieben kathryn!!!
Aber es gibt ein paar Fehler...
No capital at television: ...generates advertisments for Television... - ...generates advertisments for television... (nicht zu wichtig!)
...advertisements are often fun to see...: Man würdet "often fun to watch" sagen, weil hier das einfach besser ist.
(zip away - ich mag's!!)
...so that people are not so much annoyed, when a movie is interrupted...: Auf Englisch müsst man immer "...are not annoyed so much (oder as much) sagen. Ich würde auch schreiben, "when their movie is interrupted." - it just sounds better
Naja gut gemacht!
