Can you please explain me which of these two sentences is correct:
1. Due to my interest, I intend to specialize in the Finance department.
2. Due to my interest, I intend to specialize in Finance department.

It requires the article "the" because "finance department" is not a name, it's a description. Also finance department is not capitalized.

I have to add my second element of uncertainty; a thing my teacher (native) recommended.
Is it correct to say for example "I had contributed to the Rewe and the Lidl ...." or rather "I had contributed to Rewe and Lidl ...."?

Rewe and Lidl are names (compare to your previous example) and do not require "the".

I'm not so sure. I mean on their own names don't take an article, but the sentence is incomplete, we have no idea how it continues. And I don't quite get how "contributes" figures into this. In my opinion we cannot tell either unless we see how the sentence continues.

You're absolutely right, tiorthan. We should have a look at the complete sentence.

Luxdux, please can you provide us with a full sentence?
