Hi there!

Beitrag von Perky »

This is Perky. I mean, this is my nickname. My real name is top secret, beacuse I prefer it to be anonymous on the internet.

I'm thirty-six years old and I live in Germany and I was born there as well. I'm studying English for a couple of weeks and I'm here to improve my abilities in the English language. What else? I'm unfit to correct other texts, but if I could I would, of course. What next?... I would be pleased if somebody could correct my writing English.

I've got a question. It could be happen that I have many questions. What should I do then? Should I open a new thread for every single question? I don't know, but I think it could be a great deal.

So long!

Perky

Hey Delfino,

The first and third sentences are correct and synonymous, though it would be more common to say English proficiency rather than proficiency in English (but that is really nitpicking!).

The second sentence: I'm here to improve my ability to use the English language doesn't sound right.

To improve my ability to use is a bit awkward even though I understand the meaning. You'd probably have to say I'm here to improve my written English if you wanted to imply use.
