Correction of an English letter

Could somebody correct the following letter please? Thank you very much!!!

Dear Sir or Medam,

as I haven’t received as yet a message of you I would like to make respectfully sure if you have received all my documents including the reference of my headmaster Mr Bernhard Schmidle.
Before we went on holidays I have asked Mr Schmidle to send a reference to you.

So würde ich das zunächst vorschlagen. "make respectfully sure" klingt nicht optimal, ich wüsste aber nicht, was man da anderes schreiben könnte.
