1.) Put the verbs into the simple past or past progressive.

a) She left (leave) the road because her rental car

was making (make) a strange noise.

b) The detective asked, "Where were (be) you and what

did you do (do) at 10 o'clock last night?"

c) While he was making (make) coffee, she

was moving (move) chairs in the conference room.

d) When he got to the seminar, he saw (see) that

everyone was wearing (wear) casual clothes.

e) They left (leave) the room just as the others

ja

b) The detective asked, "Where were (be) you and what
did you do (do) at 10 o'clock last night?"
nein Es heisst zwar last night, was sich auf die Vergangenheit bezieht, darum were, aber beim zweiten Teil des Satzes ist die Frage, was du um 10 Uhr (gerade)gemacht hast, darum were you doing – past progressive. Also: Where were you and what were you doing at 10 o'clock last night?

c) While he was making (make) coffee, she
was moving (move) chairs in the conference room.
Ja

d) When he got to the seminar, he saw (see) that
everyone was wearing (wear) casual clothes.
Ja

e) They left (leave) the room just as the others
were arriving (arrive).
Danke.

Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!

Liebe Grüsse joy
