Hi, mimarin :freu:

That's embarrassing! Well, I had to hurry up, because I had to go to my old school to play piano...

Something like that shows: Nobods is perfect!(Of course I'm not)*ggg*

Actually, I make a lot of mistakes, but I'm still in my 3rd yaer and I also hope my english will get better time after time.

Now that's enough from me,
Bye for now
anna

P.S.: I've got a question: In the test we had to write a text production. It was about an re-enactment and there I should ask another class in Swede(I don't now how to spell) if they want to make it with us. At the end of the e-mail i wrote : Yours sincerely
Well, I know that you should take BYE, or BYE FOR NOW, or so on .... but i thought : I havn't met them before, so I better put sincerely in there...
What do you think?

Hello Anna.

No need to be embaressed...... your English is pretty good!!!
You are not perfect.... me neither!!!!! Makes the two of us then....so, gimme your hand, sister..... :prost: :freu:

Since the letter you wrote sounds kind of official I think "yours sincerely" is o.k.! But as I told you before: my English is far away from being perfect. If you need to know things like that, you can ask under "Vokabulary" in this forum. There are allways nice people there who know English much better than I do and who would like to help you.
If you have any spelling problems, you can go to:

http://dict.leo.org/?lang=en

That's a very good online dictionary.

ByeBye

At last....

Beitrag von Nynaeve »

My last visit at this forum is a long time ago, it seems..... How are you, Mimarin?
And Anna... I think your English is pretty good! You like maths? After these few lessons I've had so far, I think it will be difficult for me: equations, differential calculus.... integral calculus.... that even SOUNDS horrible! :hammer:

Mimarin, you want to know how it feels to sit in the classroom again? For me it doesn't feel so weird! In fact, it's like I've never done anything else. Even though I haven't sat in a classroom since 2002 when I finished my vocational education. :read:
There are 14 people in my class. 4 of them are older than me, the rest was born in 1985/1986...
About 3 or 4 are unemployed at the moment.

We already wrote an English test (irregular verbs) and we will write the next one on Monday. In the first test I had a 1-! :freu: Hope, the next one will be as good as that. But we have to learn... more than hundred words/phrases!
WOW.... that schedule of yours..... Ohhh my godness!!!!!
How on earth are you gonna make it?????
You sure have my sympathy!!
THANKS A LOT for the sympathy! :D
Till now I haven't had any problems.... you know, with less time, stress.... :luck: Good to have a man at home who can sometimes wash the dishes or tidy up a little bit while I'm at school!! :D I really can't wash the dishes at 11.00 p.m.!
But I'm sure it will get harder and harder soon.
Ok, I have almost no time for other things during the week, but there are the school holidays! This semester is very short because the holidays in NRW start so early! I haven't got lessons on Friday, the 23rd of June; just have to work until 1 o'clock and then we'll drive to Sweden! I'm looking forward to it by now!! :chief:
one of my colleagues got sick and I had to replace them
Oh, now YOU have MY sympathy! :spin:
My workmate is ill for ages.... Ok, for weeks now and I have so much to do at work. AND our boss' secretary is on holidays, so I have to do even more stuff: write letters for my male colleagues who aren't able to use a computer...!!! Imagine: They write the text "by hand" and I write it on the computer. I'm sure you know: It's a waste of time, isn't it? Everything is written twice...

Ok, I don't want to complain.... :uppy:
Altogether, I'm pretty satisfied with myself at the moment and that's the important fact!!

Congratulations to your progress in archery! :freu: Tell me (again?), when did you start with it?

Ok, it's late now..... want to go to bed and sleep with my vocabulary-sheets under my pillow!
Btw, I read Harry Potter 1 + 2 in English a short time ago and I really enjoyed it.... very easy to read, I think! Started with "Brave new world" of A. Huxley on Wednesday - of course much more difficult to read!

Ok... anything else? Haha, what about the weather in Bergen?? Maybe rain? :wink1:
.... I have not yet found a penfriend from abroad.... no reply.... :(
And the one I have in good, old Germany hasn't sent me a proper letter for AGES! And next week I'll get my CHRISTMAS PACKET from her!!!! Christmas???? Wtf??? Ok, ok, no complaining.... but I always read (in her SMS or on postcards): problems with PC... she wrote a letter but it's lost.... everything is soooooo stressful.....
Well, I got to know her, and I think she's the one who causes her stress... wants to be everyone's mother (she's 24)....

But that's another topic.... For me, I'll suggest her to write her letters by hand!!!! But I think then one of her 1000 cats will pee on the letter and it will also be lost! VICIOUS CIRCLE!!!! :denk:

Ummmm.... I REALLY didn't want to write that much....
Hope, you have a nice weekend (with or without work) and a great time until I'll hear (... errr....read) from you again!!! :bye1:

Greetings,

N.

Hello!!

Congratulations to you, Anna!! :freu: The 1 in English is fantastic!!!!!

Hello Nynaeve!!

And congratulations to you, too!!!!!! 1- is pretty impressive!!!! :band:
Good luck with the next one!! :luck:
Please keep me posted!!!

Only four month until your trip to Sveden!! That's not long!!!
I'm looking forward to the end of Mars allready...... friend of mine is comming and we will spend a week traveling together around Norway. But until then it's just WORK,WORK,WORK!!!! Have my second of 15 nightshifts now, and my back is allready aching!! We have one patient with 128 kg and another one with 132 kg  .... I'm talking about wheelchair-users here, you know... they are not able to move by themselves... :(
but don't wanna complain.... choose this profession myself... knew before.. (why oh why DID I CHOOSE IT????)
Is Sveden the only trip you'll do this year? Or are you planning any other journeys??

And gee!!!!!! Your colleagues are not able to use a computer??? Why are they working there??? I mean... isn't there a lot of computerwriting to do?? I thought that's a basic thing in your profession??? :denk:
Isn't that a little bit like a nurse who is not able to give an injection??!! (LOOOL... that's a funny idea.... )

To the archery.... I started last year in late summer..... and mostly I'm able to hit yellow and red (the center colors), what is pretty god!!! :jo:
sleep with my vocabulary-sheets under my pillow!
I have a better idea..... I read one time that you actually learn things you hear while sleeping... why don't you record the words you want to learn on CD and set it on repeat? When you listen to them the whole night over and over again, you sure know them by heart the next day..... :big_thumb: :chief:

To the weather issue.... NO RAIN HERE ..... cold, but beautyfull :jo:
And next week I'll get my CHRISTMAS PACKET
wow.... doesn't she think that's a bit early??? I mean, hey, we haven't even had Easter yet!!! :wink1:

What else??? Nothing new..... but I have many more nights, so I'll write more another time...
Now it's time for my patrol...... turn my patients to the other side... ???? ... :denk: mmhh... was that correct now?? Maybe better to say... roll them over to the other side??? Whatever, but I have to move them .... :uppy: so....
best wishes
Mimarin

Tired.....

Beitrag von Nynaeve »

Hallo!!

Congratulations, Anna! Wow, such a good average... :freu:

I'm very tired and because of that I don't want so much now....
I try to prepare my presentation for Thursday.... in English.... about Ireland.... something interesting about Ireland.... Ummm.... I don't even have a proper topic!! :( I just want to sleep!

But... don't want to bother....
I've already prepared a transparency for biology - it's about lipids (fats). We worked in group and I wrote the transparency.

Ohhh.... stop! Very impolite.... I didn't even ask about your feeling, Mimarin!
You seem to be very hard working at the moment.... wow, 128 kg.... or even more.... What about your muscles? Sorry...

Travelling around Norway? Oh, can I join you? Haha.... I've never done a trip "just with my rucksack"... But I've thought about that lately... Must be cheaper than a hotel - AND you see much more of the country.
I think we'll do that someday....must be more adventuresome....
Markus and I and two of our friends want to go to the "Loreley" (Rhine) in April by motorbike for a few days.... Yes, and the trip to Sweden..... That's it so far. :chief:
I have a better idea..... I read one time that you actually learn things you hear while sleeping... why don't you record the words you want to learn on CD and set it on repeat? When you listen to them the whole night over and over again, you sure know them by heart the next day.....
In Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World" this (or at least something similar) is called "Hypnopaedia", if I remember it right.... The children hear it while they sleep... the "Alphas" hear that they are much better then "Gammas" and stuff like that!
Weird....

Btw, I've read Harry Potter 2 and 3 and I'm reading book 4 at the moment. AND we watched "H.P. and the Prisoner of Azkaban" yesterday. Oh... I hope I won't try to fly to work on my broom tomorroy morning!!!!!! Haha.... and I'll stand in front of the door shouting "Alohomora"... and when my boss comes with work for me, I'll call a "Patronus".... :hammer:
Ahhh!!!!!

We also watched "Saw 2".... uaargh.... But in my opinion,"Saw" was more horrible...

No, I haven't got time now: Tomorrow we'll write the 4th English-test and I haven't learnt the vocabulary till now!!!

So...
Many greetings,
Nynaeve

I think you mean 'over 18 years ago.'

What would you like to do? There are English speaking "Stammtisches" all over the place. Do you live in Munich? It's difficult to not speak English sometimes.

Being a native English speaker means that everybody wants to practise their English with you.
It took a long time for me to become fluent in German.

To speak English go to the GEA, the German English Association. They have Stammtisches and activities where everybody speaks English. Every Friday at Rechtaler Hof near the Hauptbahnhof.

I live near Munich, off to on side. If you contact me over this forum in a private manner I can give you more info. I don't know if "private messages" are possible here. I'm just a newbie.

Hey Bogey,

Actually I don't need to go to such a thing. I currently live in NY. I just was curious

Sorry! I didn't formulate my situation clear enough. I currently live in NY, but I'll be back in 8 months, that's why I said I live in Munich. Because I actually do live there just not right now...And I wondered why you said that it's hard not to speak English in Munich. I hope I was able to help you with your confusion

Aaargh! :hammer:

Hallo mimarin!

It happened again; I wrote a text and then closed the "window" accidentally! So now just a VERY short repetition of what I wrote:

- What about your trip around Norway? Have you returned yet? And in general: Everything ok for you?

- School's ok so far.... now that we've got Easter holidays I've got a little more time for myself.... NICE! We wrote Biology, Maths, English and German class examinations during the last two weeks.... (no results back yet, but I don't expect too much...).

- New paintings on my blog!! I enjoy painting sooo much lately... :freu:

Ok, I'll wait and see, if you're at work or still travelling around, until I write more, ok? Just wanted to give you a short message, too.... so I'll hope to "see" you around!

Greetings,
