Scottish Bands

Hey, since I'm considering studying in Scotland, I'd like to get to know the music scene a little.
Can somebody recommend some good Scottish Folk/Rock/Metal etc. Bands to me?

I know Runrig already, they're alright, but the stuff I have was a bit too poppy. Do they have folk stuff like The Pogues, too?
Are there any Scottish Folk bands for Scotland like The Pogues or The Dubliners are for Ireland?

Sure

Idlewild are similar to Travis...but I'd say they're a bit more rock than Travis (at least their older records)

Anyhow, songs I'd recommend: little discourage, love steals us from loneliness, let me sleep (next to the mirror)

Primal Scream do mainly electronic music
My recommendation: kill all hippies

Oh, and Franz Ferdinand are scottish too....I think they're quite famous, aren't they?

Yeah, I know Franz Ferdinand.. They're not really my kind of music.
