Die Verwendung von one/ones

Um zu vermeiden, dass man ein zählbares Substantiv wiederholt, ersetzt man es durch das Stützwort one/ones.

• Einzahl/Singular: one
• Mehrzahl/Plural: ones

John has three cars – a red car and two blue cars. (John hat drei Autos – ein rotes Auto und zwei blaue Autos.)
John has three cars – a red one and two blue ones. (John hat drei Autos – ein rotes und zwei blaue.)

Jack has five pens – two green pens and three yellow pens. (Jack hat fünf Stifte – zwei grüne Stifte und drei gelbe Stifte.)
Jack has five pens – two green ones and three yellow ones. (Jack hat fünf Stifte – zwei grüne und drei gelbe.)
