yes, we have the same goals. It is nice to have this forum. My hobby is playing tennis and I read news about the pro tennisplayer in the world (Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal) at the internet(atptennis). One year ago, i had read the daily maily, but the type is very small and the news a long. The tennisportal I remembered about a lot of words from school and I learned how to speak easier.

My opinion is, that grammar not so important and so difficult, if we have a lot mor vocabulary we make it.

But everybody can correct me, and my grammar.

1 - So, as far as I remember, in English you capitalize the first word of the new line after the greeting.

2 - Even though it's still a compound noun, grammatically, in English you spell them as two words.

3 - When you express something that you did at a specific point in time in the past you use the simple past.

4 - I don't understand what you wanted to say here, did you mean "the news were long"?

5 - Again, I don't understand and unfortunately cannot guess what you meant to say.

If you are not so good in understanding English I must watch by leo.org a few words, than I read 30 minutes for this text. That is a long time. A lot of sentences I don't understand because I don't remember the vocabulary.

If you are not so good in understanding English you[sub]1[/sub] have to[sub]2[/sub] look up a few words on leo.org, then it takes 30 minutes for me to read the text. That is a long time. 1 - When you use the impersonal your in a sentence you should stick to it and not switch to another pronoun.

2 - There is a difference between have to and must. If you are forced to do something you "have to" do it.

3 - watch = betrachten; look up = nachschlagen

4 - You cannot have an adverb of location ("on leo.org") between the verb and object ("a few words").

Well, looking up words interrupts the reading. You may often find that you can understand a sentence - or at least make a good guess - even if you don't understand some of the words.

No, no. You are right. I didn't hear that word. Now, I have one more word in my mind. Is that right. "Now" at the beginning from the sentences or at the end? Or equal.

If I'm not mistaken "rental car" (which is often shortened to "rental" in speech) is American English in Britain they say "hired car".

Althought it'd be better to speak Spanish anyways

Hire car is commonly used in England, however it is not wrong to say rental car.

Spanish would be better, absolutely.
But as I'm not a language wiz it would be a bad idea. (Correct? "Aber weil ich nicht gerade ein Sprachengenie bin, wäre es eine schlechte Idee")

Apart from that, good odds I can do it in German. ("Abgesehen davon sind die Chancen gut, dass ich es auf Deutsch erledigen kann")

My opinion is, you have more than one vocabulary, you say are and not is? Is that only german? In England is that different?
