How to install a new power socket?
Wie man eine Steckdose anschließt? -> Das ist die Übersetzung Deiner Überschrift, aber das ist Aktiv! Der Satz ist doch "Man schließt eine Std. an."
Aber schreiben sollst Du Passiv, also in Deutsch wäre das:
"Wie eine Steckdose angeschlossen wird (werden muss)" -> How a new power socket is (to be) installed
Passiv bildest Du im Deutschen mit "werden" und der 3. Stammform (das ist in der Regel vorne mit "ge-" wie geliebt, gearbeitet, angeschlossen, gebaut usw.)
Im Englischen bildest Du das Passiv, abweichend vom Deutschen, mit einer Form von "be" (am, are, is, was, have been usw.) und der dritten Stammform. Ich gebe Dir noch ein Beispiel anhand eines Deiner Sätze.
Dieser Satz ist vollkommen im Aktiv, wie tiorthan schon schrieb.
Wenn Du einen Satz aus dem Aktiv ins Passiv setzen willst, musst Du aus dem
Objekt (wen/was?) das Subjekt (wer/was?) machen.

Subjekt, d.h., stelle es an den Anfang des Passiv-Satzes:

3. mache aus dem
Prädikat im Aktiv eines im
Passiv, achte auf die Zeit, in der es stehen muss und auf die Person:
switch off, das ist hier ein Imperativ (Befehlsform), deshalb brauchst Du ein "must", dann eine Form von "be", weil hier "must" steht, muss es der Infinitiv bleiben "be", dann die 3. Stammform von "switch off" = "switched off" =
must be switched off
Also:
First, the power at the consumer unit must be switsched off.
Hurra! Ein Satz im Passiv!!! 
Weiter geht's:

2. mache es zum Subjekt
3. finde das Prädikat und setze es aus dem Aktiv ins Passiv
"switch off or remove" ... ja, genau "must be switched off or removed"
weil Dein Relativsatz, der erklärt, wofür die Sicherung da ist, noch eingebaut werden muss, stelle ihn hinter sein Bezugswort, nämlich "fuse"
ALSO:
"and the fuse - that protects the circuit you intend to work - must be switched off or removed."
Versuchst Du es jetzt mal allein, halte Dich an die Schritte, mach langsam und stelle Dein Ergebnis gerne wieder ein, wir gucken dann nochmal.
A simple way to checking that the circuit is no longer live is to plug in an appliance and switch it on. For example a lamp or professional main tester.
Next, unscrew the faceplate from your chosen socket and pull it away from mounting. Remove the old socket and replaced it with a new.
