You won't hear that anywhere but in the Durham area, Pennsylvanian. I used it on one of my work trips to London.. you should've seen the people's faces ..

Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum. I really like this topic... hmmm there are so many cool English words. I guess I like "literally" a lot and "love".
On that note, there is one word I can't stand the sound of: "moist"... I don't know if you guys know the show How I Met Your Mother but there is an episode when they mention that word a lot

"moist" ? Now that's interesting :) .. the word does not bother me at all, mind there are words I can't get away with either, such as mushy. Funny, isn't it?

To shlep is a Yiddish word that occasionally appears in English conversation. As a verb, means "to go on a tedious journey, often while carrying a heavy or awkward load." As in, "I had to shlep my computer across town for a presentation."

I love to study the origins of words, so I love words that have an interesting history. For example, a companion is a friend or colleague. It comes from Latin, where "com-" means with and "pan" is bread. A companion, therefore, is "someone with whom you eat."

antidisestablishmentarianism was also a favorite of mine. Apart from that, I'm particularly fond of words with 'v' in them, which perhaps explains my fascination with german . 'Vivacious', 'vexation', 'vehemence', and 'verbose' really please me.

Nice topic :D

My this weeks favorite word is 'humdrum'.

And I really like the way the British pronounce 'Paddington'. I'll never be able to pronounce it like they do.

Could be difficult to write down how I pronounce it!

Well, I think I pronounce it correctly, but it will never sound alike. Better?
