since + present or since + present perfect

Hi there!

Well as my topic says....

I've been noticing increasingly that "since" in a statement does not
always have to mean a "period of time", because if it did why not use the
present perfect tense then...?

So there is my question what exactly does since + present tense mean...?
Or at least what would be the correct german translation for it...?

Its honestly weird to my mind because i was always taught at school that since
/ for basically lead in the present perfect tense which means a period of
time like i said...

I also think it might be any slang expression to use since + present t. because
compared to german there is not even such a tense you know...

I'd really be sooo happy, if anyone of you guys knew it
I've been wracking my head about it just for soooo long ._.
It even starts getting on my nerves.... hahaha

"since" + Past Tense = seit oder weil

Since I was a young girl I have loved the English language.
Seit ich ein kleines Mädchen war, liebe ich die englische Sprache.

Since I was a young girl then, I couldn't move to England.
Weil ich damals ein kleines Mädchen war, konnte ich nicht nach England ziehen.

"since" + Present Perfect = seit (Zeitpunkt) oder weil

Since 1967 I have loved the English language.
Seit 1967 liebe ich die englische Sprache.

Since I have always loved the English language I work as a teacher now.
Weil ich die englische Sprache schon immer geliebt habe,
arbeite ich jetzt als Lehrer.

"since" + Present Tense = weil

aaaaalles klar!

ich hab ja so gesehen mit dem englischen Zeitensystem keine Problömchen, es ist mir irgendwie nur entgangen, dass "since" sowohl seit als auch weil heissen kann.

hab jetzt letztens so ein interessantes Video auf youtube gesehen, wo es hieß "Since this accent is stuck in my head, i totally mess up"

uuund jaa... mir bleibt nur viel zu danken
