Past continuous ,past perfect continuous?

Past continuous oder past perfect continuous?
Worin besteht der grundlegende Unterschied?
Sind nachfolgende Sätze richtig?
When we got there,Harriet had been waiting for us.She wasn't angry, because she had been waiting very long.
The boys got back at 7 p.m. They was playing golf.
We had been working for twenty minutes when the teacher stopped the lesson.
The accident happened while I had been waiting to cross the road.
I could see she was pleased with the new car.She told me she had been waiting for it for six months.

Habe ich als blutiger Anfänger die Sätze richtig gebildet? Herzlichen Dank für die Hilfe
Jens! :|
