Frisian as a dialect? I was told by my German Dialects professor that it was it's own separate language; or at the very least a dialect of Dutch rather than German. :question:

Yes the description is correct. For us in the north is Frisian a dialect but that's not the correct description. People who speak Frisian are able to understand the Dutch people. I think that's the better explanation. :D

:mrgreen: Anyone? I think that's a bit to much. :wink: As far as I know the Frisian people can understand Dutch, but the rest of us here in Hamburg... We can't understand Frisian and Dutch people. We're a little helpless in that case.
