Anyone willing to..

Beitrag von sup »

Anyone willing to help me find mistakes because I'm sick of getting bad grades :x :[ haha.  :( plz!?!?!?!

Life does not only consist of experiencing success because sometimes there are also times when one has to cope with failure. Many people believe that society does not accept people who fail. In his novel “Moon Palace”, Paul Auster shows, however, that failure must not be primarily seen as negative. It is the intention of this paper to discuss why making mistakes are important in life. This will be proven by analysing Julian Barber’s life as a hermit.

After the death of his companion Byrne, Barber goes crazy and blames himself for being an irresponsible and weak man (l. 166). Barber is ashamed of his failure and decides not to return home because he fears the criticism and rejection of society. He therefore continues living a lonely life in the desert. Later the failure in his life destroys Barber insofar as he even wishes to be dead (l.7, p. 166). His mistakes have led him to an extreme loneliness and will eventually lead him to an immediate death.

What the reader learns from Barber's mistakes is that they are important to make to realize one’s weak points. It is true that if he had taken responsibility for Bryne, his friend would not have died. Unfortunately, things went bad and now he ends up alone in the desert. However, it is only by experiencing failure, the death of his companion Byrne, which opens Barber’s eyes and makes him realize how weak his character is.

Making mistakes are also important to develop a stronger mind. Although Barber faces failure, which results in a deep depression to the point that he wants to die, he keeps going through the desert until he finds the cave. The cave offers him many food supplies with which he is able to survive the next months. Provided that Barber has not given up hope on betterment and kept going on, his failure has transformed into success. It is clear that Barber now feels more confident after he had defeated failure. Barber has experienced success after failure, and thus he gained a stronger mind.

By juxtaposing the arguments in this essay, it can be concluded that first making mistakes are essential to learn from the past and to realize one's weak points. Second, as one is afraid to show mistakes in public, one often ends up like Barber in isolation. However, the positive side of isolation resulting from failure allows more time to think about one's mistakes. Finally, and most importantly, one learns how to cope with failure and how to transform it into success provided that one looks for an outlet from failure.

Der ursprüngliche Satz klingt mir ein bißchen komisch. Meine Hinzufügung ist in rot.

Der Rest des Schriftstückes ist perfekt. :big_thumb:
