The production of goods in manufacturing companies requires in many cases fuel inputs. Losses, results of energy converting processes caused by thermodynamic laws, are often released to the environment without further usages. In many cases technical and economic solutions for waste heat recovery are available but are not realized until now.
Available studies about waste heat potentials in regions or cities show existing but inconsistent waste heat potentials.

Further identified large waste heat potentials exist in laundries caused by washing processes.
The main waste heat potential in hospitals results predominantly from the heating and air conditioning systems.
