Hi Keswick thanks for correction! :D I'm sure it will help me to become more and more better in English... :freu: Yes you are right I will try not to use colloquial abbreviations. I will think on it when I'm writing here. And I will talk with my good friend from Finland, because she is using so many colloquial abbreviations when we talk each other. That's the point right here, I did the same in the past.

Where are you coming from Switzerland? From the German-speaking Switzerland? Or the French or Italian speaking?

Hey boys and girls! :D
I am new here und want to introduce myself to you!
I'm 17 years old and come from Germany, near Frankfurt. Actually I'm living in a very small village, sadly!
I visit school in the 11th grade and took English for one of my advanced courses. The other advanced course will be German. Yes, I like languages.

I'm really crazy about music and listening to music almost all the time.
I think, sometimes I can be little bit.. strange. But you will learn to know me and than we will say, whether that's true or not.

So now, I hope we will have a great time,
Enjoy yourselfes!

Trace

I mostly listen to rock, too. And I like some charts, but not all.

Which bands do you like?

Hi Trace,

I'm fine, too. I'm looking forward to the next weekend. At saturday my best friend is going to celebrate his birthday. :freu:
Oh, my favorite bands change again and again. But I'm a fan of "Die toten Hosen", Avril Lavigne, Pink ever. Do you know Lenka? She makes also good music. I've find her music at "youtube".

What are your favorite bands?

Bye,
Marc :)

I hope you had fun yesterday!

I like Avril Lavigne, too, but I did not really like her changing in the past few years.
And I like Pink, too! She's really cool and her music is also good.
My favorite band is Green Day. And I like something like Timbaland or sometimes A fine frenzy, too. So, you see, I listen to almost everything!
How has the birthday party been?

Hi Trace,
yeah, my weekend was very good. The birthday party was fine and last but not least remember the great soccer game at sunday. :freu: Do you like soccer?
Oh, we have nearly the same music taste. A few weeks ago I went to a music festival in the Netherlands. There played Rammstein among others. Pretty spectacular show, you know. :rolly:
Have you been ever at a festival?

So long,
Marc :)

Hi Guys,

I am from Schleswig-Holstein, it is in the north of Germany. And I am a student of the junior high school. I try to improve my English skills because I know that it is an important language. Especially my pronunciation is not the best
I read all your comments and a mistake which was often corrected is:"[...] I have been living for ten years. ". Can anyone explain me this type of grammar?

Post lines: If I did a mistake or a bad grammar structure, please correct me.

Friendly regards out from Germany,

Cydox

You should not translate school types. I for example still do not know what kind of school you attend because "junior high school" is used differently throughout the English speaking world.

I don't know what you mean. Of course "I have been living for ten years" is wrong because it's missing a place where you have been living.
The place goes directly after "living". Like so: "I have been living on the moon for ten years."

I have been living - The tense of the verb is called "present perfect continous" you can look it up on http://www.englisch-hilfen.de/en/gramma ... formen.htm
You're never too old to learn something stupid.
MistakeSuggestionYou sure that's right?

Hello everybody,

is anyone alive here? I just want to say that it's a really useful website. I'm looking for friends to keep fit in English and who I could communicate with. :)
