The text „What is Life about“, written by Preethi Nair in 2004, describes an Indian descending young woman,
called Nina. Nina is not really happy with her current life. She often thinks about her past and her earlier dreams.

Since three years Nina works at Whitter and Lawson, a law company, which represents artists.
Unfortunately this kind of work is not her favorite career aspiration. Nina always wanted to be a painter.
Indeed she works with artists, but Nina knows that her job has nothing to do with creating art.
The main target of her current job is to make money for the company. She often thinks about her dreams
as a child. Since she was 6 Nina always wanted to be a painter. She painted a lot of different pictures,
but her parents, especially her father, paid no attention. Instead, Nina's father read to her extracts of
the Encyclopaedia Britannica. These extracts that sometimes even her father did not fully understand.
He wanted to prepare Nina for her career in this way. Her father called it love because
he also had to bring a lot of financial sacrifices for Nina's education.
When Nina was sixteen she decided to go to art college, but Nina's father did not accept this at all.
Therefore he
did not speak with her for weeks. Later he came to her and described her his position and
that he had to bring a lot of sacrifices for enabling her a good education and thereby to start a career as a lawyer.
Nina felt that she had to acknowledge the efforts of her father. The result was that Nina complied and
went to university to study law. She worked very hard to get a good job afterwards.
At Whitter and Lennon she did her final training and after she finished her studies she continued to work there.
The only thing, which become reality, from her childhood dream is that she works with artists.
...is supplied without liability.

Three years ago Nina started to work for Whitter and Lawson, a law company, which represents artists.
Unfortunately this kind of work is not her favorite career aspiration. Nina always wanted to be a painter.
Indeed, she works with artists, but Nina knows too that her job has nothing to do with creating art.
The main target of her current job is to make money for the company. She often thinks about her dreams
as a child. Since she was six Nina always wanted to be a painter. She painted a lot of different pictures,
but her parents, especially the father, ignored her great interest in art completely. Instead, he read to her many
extracts of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. These contained often some parts that even he did not fully understand.
This was his way of preparing Nina for a career later on in (her) life. Her father called it love because
he had to make a lot of financial sacrifices for Nina's education.
When Nina was sixteen she decided to attend art college, but Nina's father did not accept this at all.
Therefore he did not speak with her for weeks. Later he came to her and described her his opinion and
that he had to bring a lot of sacrifices for enabling her a good education and thereby to start a career as a lawyer.
Nina felt that she had to acknowledge the efforts of her father. The result was that Nina complied and
went to university to study law. She studied very hard to get a good job afterwards.
At Whitter and Lennon she did her final training and after she finished her studies she continued to work there.
Until now working with artists is the only thing from her childhood dream that she could realize.

Canberra is the capital city of Australia, even if Canberra has no more than 340000 inhabitants. The site of Canberra was selected for the location of the nations capital in 1903 as a compromise between rivals Sydney ans Melbourne. Because in 1901 Melbourne was Australia largest city. Therefore Melbourne vindicated the right to be capital city. One the one hand many colonies supported this suggestion, but on the other hand some colonies declined this project. These colonie prefered Sydney, because Sysney is compared against melbourne the older city. This controversy complicated the situation. The result of this is that Canberra was selected as the capital city, because neither Melbourne, nor Sysney would have accepted the other. Moreover the government wanted to prevent a split of Australia. But Canberra was noz existing at this moment. In 1913 the construction of Canberra started. Canberra is an entirely planned city. The city's design was heavily influenced by the garden city movement and incorporates significant areas of natural vegetation that have earned Canberra the title "bush capital".

Canberra is the capital city of Australia, although it has no more than 340000 inhabitants. The site of Canberra was selected for the location of the nation's capital (don't forget the apostrophe) in 1903 as a compromise between rivals Sydney and Melbourne. In 1901 Melbourne was Australia's largest city and therefore believed it had the right to be Australia's capital city. On the one hand many colonies supported this notion, but on the other hand some colonies rejected this suggestion, preferring Sydney, because it was the older city, a controversy which complicated the situation. Eventually Canberra was selected as the capital city, because neither Melbourne nor Sydney would have accepted the other. Moreover the government wanted to prevent a split of the Australian colonies. In 1913 the construction of Canberra started. (This sentence is too short - why not mention the international competition) Canberra is an entirely planned city, heavily influenced by the garden city movement and incorporates significant areas of natural vegetation that have earned Canberra the title "bush capital".

Hope I haven't been too hard and this helps! Marek.
