How to analyse statistics?

Hi,
does anybody know what I have to take in mind in order to analyse statistics?
The only stuff concerning to this topic which is known to me are special words to use, such as pie chart, bard chart, increase sharply/slowly, decrease sharply/slowly, remain staple, doubled, or quartered.
I have already searched for detailed pieces of information on this site, but I didn’t find anything.
