Hilfe mit Referat gebraucht

Beitrag von frollein »

Hallo,
Vielen Dank schon mal,
frollein
First I´d like to do a quiz:
Do you know where Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Bill Gates and Starbucks are from?
(Hope, somebody knows it)
From Seattle
I was in Seattle in the summer of 2006 and today I want to tell you something about the city.
Seattle is the largest city in the Pacific Nothwest close to Canada and it´s the capitol of Washington State. ( Be carefull, Washington State, not Washington d.c.)Seattle is famous for a lots of things, for example its economy, its music, its great environment and landscape, its political events and its history.
Economy: A long time Boing was the only mayor concern. But since Bill Gates has been successfull with his software manufacture „ Microsoft“ , there are lots of other companies, Amozon dot com and Adobe dot com are only a few.
Environment: Seattle is located between Puget Sound, an arm of the Pacific Ocean, to the west an Lake Washington to the east. Beyond the sound there is the Olympic peninsula, where you can still find some of the last temporate rain forests. It´s the home of the Quinault tribe, also. On San Juan Island, an island in the Puget Sound you can quite often spot orcas and other whales. Seattle is surrounded by many mountains and you can go skiing or boarding there.
The city itself is vey hilly, like Rome, the city is said to lie on seven hills.
Music: Jimmy Hendrix was born Seattle.
In the 1990´s Seattle was the birthplace of the grungeboom, bands as Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and the most-known grungeband Nirvana started up their track record here.
Political events: In 1990 the WtO conference was prevent by anti-globalization activists, i in what (be?)came to be known as the second part of the anti-globalization movement.
History: The first Europeans settled down in 1851. But before the Europ Americans arrived, there were the native people. They lived in the PNW for 11.000 or 12.000 years. The natives from Pudget Sound have got a rich and complex social and culture structures, that (which?) was almost erased by the settlers.
Most people think the all-known quotation: „ Erst wenn der letzte Baum gerodet, der letzte Fluß vergiftet und der letzte Fisch gefangen ist, werden die Menschen fest stellen, dass man Geld nicht essen kann“ is from Chief Seattle. Actually it is from a canadian tribe. Probably he fully agrees with it. ( Probably he is conform to it?)
In 1962 the EXPO was placed in Seattle. (The EXPO took place in Seattle?)
The Space Nedle, Seattles most significant monument was buildet for it. tIt is a curios tower, 162 meters high. It is a little bit like the Olympia Turm in Munich, you can go to a restaurant or just have a breathtaking view above Seattle.
Some more facts:
Seattle is where Starbucks was founded.
Seattle is in an earthquake zone.
Seattle has got one the most respect public universities in USA, the Unerversiy of Washington. Seattle is home of one of the most respected/renown universities in the US, the Univ. of Washington?)

From Seattle
I was in Seattle in the summer of 2006 and today I want to tell you something about the city.

Seattle is the largest city in the Pacific Nothwest, close to Canada and it's the capitol of Washington State. ( Be carefull, Washington State, not Washington d.c.). Seattle is famous for a lots of things, for example its economy, its music, its great environment and landscape, its political events and its history.

Economy: A long time Boeing was the only mayor concern (Schlag das Wort mal bitte nach und ersetze es dann entsprechend ;)). But since Bill Gates has been successfull with (his software manufacture) „ Microsoft“ , there are lots of other companies, Amozon dot com and Adobe dot com are only a few two examples.

Environment: Seattle is located between Puget Sound, an arm of the Pacific Ocean, to the west and Lake Washington to the east. Beyond the sound (Das Wort musst du auf jeden Fall erklären) there is the Olympic peninsula, where you can still find some of the last tempoerate rain forests.
It's the home of the Quinault tribe, also too. On San Juan Island, an island in the Puget Sound you can quite often spot orcas and other whales (Ein Orca ist ein Delfin ;)). Seattle is surrounded by many mountains and where you can go skiing or boarding there.
The city itself is vey hilly, like Rome, the city is said to lie on seven hills.

Music: Jimmy Hendrix was born Seattle.
In the 1990´s Seattle was the birthplace of the grungerock boom, bands as Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and the most-known grungeband Nirvana started up their track record there.

Political events: In 1990 the WTO-conference was prevented by anti-globalization activists, i in what (be?)came to be It's/Also known as the second part of the anti-globalization movement.

History: The first Europeans settled down in 1851. But before the Europ Americans arrived, there were the native people. They lived in the PNW for 11.000 or 12.000 years. The natives from Pudget Sound have got had a rich and complex social and culture structures, that (which?) was were almost erased by the settlers.
Most Many people think of the all well-known quotation which is attributed to "Chief Seattle" (Wer ist das?): „ Erst wenn der letzte Baum gerodet, der letzte Fluß vergiftet und der letzte Fisch gefangen ist, werden die Menschen fest stellen, dass man Geld nicht essen kann“ is from Chief Seattle.

Erst mal Tausend Dank! Das ist mal echt ne kontruktive Hilfe! :D

Was schlagen Sie denn vor?

Beyond the sound (Das Wort musst du auf jeden Fall erklären)

Dachte, ich leg eine Landkarte vom PNW auf den Overheadprojektor und erklär schon bei "Puget Sound, an arm of the Pacific Ocean" was das ist....

It's the home of the Quinault tribe, (also) too.

you can quite often spot orcas and other whales (Ein Orca ist ein Delfin ).
Äh, stimmt, ähm ja.....Bio = ungenügend. "Other" einfach raus?

WTO-conference was prevented by anti-globalization activists , i in what (be?)came to be It's/Also known as the second part of the anti-globalization movement.

Jetzt, beim zweiten Lesen, ist mir klar was du damit meinst. Dann kann es natürlich so stehen bleiben.
Beyond the sound (Das Wort musst du auf jeden Fall erklären)

Dachte, ich leg eine Landkarte vom PNW auf den Overheadprojektor und erklär schon bei "Puget Sound, an arm of the Pacific Ocean" was das ist....
Sehr gute Idee.
It's the home of the Quinault tribe, (also) too.
Du kannst auch "also" nach vorne setzen. "It also is...".
you can quite often spot orcas and other whales (Ein Orca ist ein Delfin ).
Äh, stimmt, ähm ja.....Bio = ungenügend. "Other" einfach raus?

"It also is...".

LG
