Motivationsschreiben!

Beitrag von Mover »

Hi,

da ich ein Praktikum in England machen will, muss ich nun ein Motivationsschreiben an eine Firma schreiben.
Könnt ihr mein Text mal bitte kontrollieren und gerne auch Kritik üben

Motivation letter

Dear Mr. xx,

First of all it’s important to say, that I worked with PC´s from small on.
I learned how to install programs and to change the hardware.
With this basis I started the placement at the Informatics Center Lower Saxony in 2003.
There I acquired the ability to work with servers and large company networks.
Later on I occupied informatics in school, where I achieved my first experiences with HTML and Java.
As you can see I have developed a high level of IT skills and to turn your hobby into your career is everyone’s dream.
This is what me attract to xx, the work within all ranges of the IT industry.

During my A-levels I presented papers in English frequently, thereby my communication skills in English have greatly developed.
Further I love the English language and working in the UK is a challenge which would give me an opportunity to gain invaluable experience for my career.

I believe that the combination of my academic background, my attitude to life and my IT skills is well-suited to your company.

I am available for interview at any time and look forward to hearing from you.

Yours sincerely

xx

Danke Leute!

With the information presented in your draft I created a new version.
You should add the German name at XY yourself...

I think you only got some theoretical knowledge until you gained an
academic degree or studied for a few semester. Then you may call it
your academic background.

... I have developed a high level of IT skills.

How long did the training last to acquired the ability to work with / administrate
servers and large company networks?

What do you mean by "work with" - switching a server on and
using the network of a large company
or did you really learned to setup these systems yourself?

Maybe you want to mention the operating system (Unix, Win...)
and applications you used or other details that document your skills.

Dear Mr. Xx,

First of all I'd like to mention that I was interested in computer technology
from early on in my life. I learned how to install programs and to change
the hardware components.

With this basic knowledge I started a training in 2003 at the XY, a computer
science center in Lower Saxony. There I acquired the know-how to work with
servers and large company networks.

Later on in school I attended computer science lessons too, which showed me
how to use HTML and Java. I always liked to increase my IT skills. It's my dream
to turn my hobby into a career in the near future.

I frequently held presentations in English during my A-levels, which improved
my ability to communicate in English. Furthermore I love the English language
and I know that working in the UK is a challenge which would give me the
opportunity to gain valuable experience for my career.

The chance to work in many different areas of the IT industry is what attracts me most
when thinking about the idea of working at your company. I believe that the combination
of my theoretical background and my practical IT skills is well-suited for the tasks in
your company.

I am available for an interview at any time and I look forward to hearing from you.

I am available for a phone interview at any time and I look forward to hearing from you.
[ Or how fast can you get there? :) ]

Yours sincerely
