Hello HHcity,

six years ago I worked for WDR. It was a great experience for me and the team was very pleasant. I got a nice view in the Studios and behind the cameras. All the reporters read the news from the teleprompter.

Best regards, kölscheklüngel

Hi Mirtsch,

I have been to Edinburgh a couple of times and it is a beautiful place. Always busy. There are lots of interesting place to go to, for example the castle, the different museums, such as the Royal Museum of Scotland or Palace of Holyrood House which is the official residency of her Majesty in Scotland. If you're interested in ghosts I can recommend one of the many guided tours through the Edinburgh Vaults, for example the Auld Reeky Tour which lead you into the underground of Edinburgh. And did you know that Edinburgh's got a poltergeist? You can find old McKenzie on Greyfriars Cemetery.. or maybe you're better off not finding him? ;-) On this cemetery you can also find the story of Edinburgh's most faithful little soul.

So yes, I can fully recommend Edinburgh, it's amazing and beautiful and I am sure you'll enjoy it :) .

Kind regards,
Keswick

2 - Du benutzt das falsche Zeichen. Was du geschrieben hattest war ein Akutakzent, es muss jedoch ein Apostroph sein. Auf einer deutschen Tastatur findest du den Apostroph auf der Taste mit der Raute #.

The question is if he can understand you because you wrote in German ^^
Maybe he means he's looking for a mate to write about the difference between your and his country.

Does exist the group for Skype or was it already disbanded?
I'm looking for some people who want speaking.

At school I lost the skill to feel certain in English :(

Well, I don't speak Portuguese and I could always provide a translation into English.

At school I have6 lost the skill to feel certain in English :(

Azzurri
1 - Mate can lead to horrible misunderstandings because one of its meanings is "spouse, husband, wife, partner".

2 - To address the reader personally (by using your) is inconsistent with the beginning of the sentence where you are talking about him and some unnamed 3rd person.

3 - Ok, das erkläre ich besser auf Deutsch: Englisch ist eine SPO-Sprache. Das heißt, das Prädikat folgt dem Subjekt. Diese Regel gilt in der englischen Sprache ohne Ausnahme. Lediglich der erste Teil des Prädikats (das finite Verb) steht in Fragen vor dem Subjekt, der Rest des Prädikats muss jedoch immer dem Subjekt folgen.

4 - What you're asking here is the current state of the group, so the tense must be some kind of Present. You're also implying, that the current state is a direct result of an action. Whenever you're talking about the direct result of an action the aspect must be the Perfect: Present + Perfect = Present Perfect

5 - You can say things like "I want a car." but whenever want is followed by an action you use want + to-infinitive. Talk is more appropriate than speak.

6 - Here again, you're talking about your current state and thus about the present as a direct result of a past action: Present Perfect
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

Azzurri
1 - This sentence is formed of two clauses. The first clause is "that shows" the second clause "

2 - Unfortunately, I don't understand what you tried to express here. Perhaps "I must learn more than I have (learned in the past)"?

3 - In English mistakes are made. Generally, when an action results in a product (like making a mistake results in a mistake), you use make rather than do. Mind, that this is only a guideline and not a hard an fast rule. "Do" is related to the German "tun" but it does not have the same meaning. The same goes for "make" and "machen".

4 - Even though some native speakers sometimes write "everytime", it is not a recognized word in the dictionary.

Hmm, how can I say?

I learn sometimes but it is not enough.
The most time I learn vocabularys or I watch movies. Unfortunately, I don't save this in my mind (Can I say it?).
So I'm looking for a voice activity because I want to improve in difference areas.

In the past I tried a MMORPG (an online game with thousand of people) with Teamspeak but it didn't work :(

In the future I am going to write a test in English for my "Abitur".
This is a big reason why I want to learn more.

1 - It's better to add "that" here. It feels a bit incomplete without it. Express is a more elegant way to express what you tried to say.

2 - Important: Whenever you feel the need to use the words "the most" step back from the paper or monitor or whatever and think about what you're trying to say. One of two thing may apply:
  • You are trying to form a superlative - you are right, you can use "the most" in this case.
  • about every other case - no, you're wrong, you have to use "most of (the)"
That's not an extensive list but as a beginner it's better to think twice.

3 - The word vocabulary means "Vokabular" and not "Vokabel". The English counterpart of "Vokabel" is word (or vocable but that's hardly ever used).
4 - You could also say "memorize" or "keep something in mind".

5 - Oral = mündlich

6 - Die Entscheidung ob man a oder an nimmt hängt davon ab, wie das nachfolgende Wort gesprochen wird und nicht wie man es schreibt. MMORPG beginnt gesprochen mit em, also mit einem Vokal.

7 - You'd use be going to if you did it voluntarily. But while your decision to take English as a subject might have been voluntary you are now forced into taking the test which is expressed with have to.
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

I'm fed up with these2 mistakes. I want to do something, immediately.
1 - This is a set phrase in English which interestingly has no verb at all. (There is an implied copula though.)

2 - "this mistake" but "these mistakes".

I know about Skype. I was thinking about reviving the Skype group on the forum. Although time can be a little problem with some people.
