Englisch Stundenprotokoll Korrektur

Beitrag von Mark147 »

Hallo zusammen,

minutes February 9th, 2007

We started the lesson with a review on the homework.
At first we talked about no. 3. In the past children were needed for work, because their parents often were not able to work because of drug or alcohol abuse. The consequence was that the children had to work very much so they couldn't go to school. Also the school was too expensive for many families. In this time it was a privilege to go to school. Today it's the same in the “third-world” countries. Lucas told us, that you sometimes can see in Brazil things like this, too, but only in the poorer districts. Also we said that in Germany every week two children die because of the neglect of duty. Children of parents who don't work and just do drugs will not work in the future, too and we'll have to pay for them.
After this we talked about no. 4. It was about typical operative and typical intellectual jobs. Examples for operative jobs are carpenter, baker, electrician and other jobs wherefore you need your muscles and hands. Typical intellectual jobs are artist, inventor, politician, accountant and other jobs wherefore you need especially your brain.
The next number we talked about was no. 5. We found out that everyone who pays taxes also invests in education, because the state uses this taxes for the education. We discussed about the fairness of taxes. Is it fair for the richer people to pay more taxes or isn't it? This was the question and many different opinions were published.
The last number of the homework was no. 6. The question we discussed about was: What does us keep away from learning? We found out two thing. The first was the potential of our brain and the second thing was our weak will. Also we found out that it's not possible that everyone learn the same. The brains of other people are maybe not as potential as our one and so we could learn more than these others.
The last topic of the two lessons at this day was, if the society has the demand to support the generation who will pay for them years later. We didn't find a real answer for this, because many different opinions were published. But we found out, that, if the young generation not learn the system of the society would break down. This was especially that what the caricature on page 43 wanted to express.
Then the period ended.
