Hallo,
ich bringe meinem Freund Englsich bei
Nun sind wir bei den Pluralwörtern angelangt wie:
"My headquarterS is in London"
Gibt es jemanden der mir eine einigermaßen vollständige Liste geben kann?
Ich bringe sie bestimmt nicht alle zusammen.
Und heißt das Pluralwörter?
Vielen Dank!

Plural
Ich weiß die Bedeutung von Plural aber es geht eben um diese nouns im Plural stehen aber einen Singular nach sich ziehen.
Ich habe das jetzt einfach einmal "Pluralwörter" genannt ohne zu wissen ob diese Bezeichung richtig ist.

Plural
Ich möchte meinem Freund beibringen es heißt
"the United StateS IS a big country" und nicht "the Unites StateS ARE a big country"
oder
"the newS IS ..."
Es geht um diese Worte die im Plural stehen aber einen Singular im verb nach sich ziehen.
Es wäre falsch zu sagen "the United StateS ARE a big country"
Es kann sein daß es dabei auch Wörter wie news gibt die es auch als "the news are" gibt aber da hat news dann eine andere Bedeutung.

head·quar·ters (hĕd'kwôr'tərz) pronunciation
pl.n. (used with a sing. or pl. verb)
1. The offices of a commander, as of a military unit, from which orders are issued.
2. A center of operations or administration: The company has its headquarters in the suburbs. See synonyms at center.
USAGE NOTE The noun headquarters is used with either a singular or a plural verb. The plural is more common: The corporation's headquarters are in Boston. But when reference is to authority rather than to physical location, many people prefer the singular: Division headquarters has approved the new benefits package.
