Hey everybody!

Another "grandma" on board... :wink1:

I'm 36 and my English is far away from being perfect....

Hello Franzi!
Welcome to the forum... :freu:
you wrote: "I'd like to learn Italy too. " ... but you want to learn "Italian"... "Italy" is the country......
I'm wondering... learning so many languages... are you traveling a lot???

Greetings

Hi, I´m also a new user in this forum. Now I could be the grandmother of it, because I will be 44 this year. I´m from Prague, hope it doesn´t matter. I don´t use English in my work, I like travelling very much, so I learn it to feel comfortable when I need to speak English. I can´t speak any other language, although I learned French in school, but I can put together only few French phrazes ...
Not knowing German language, I must explore the facilities of this forum thoroughly to find out more about it.
Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Hi everybody,

Franzi I think that too - so many languages - How do you make it. I have a lot to do, read english Periodical, hear Audio-CD´s and so on. So i´m happy to find this board to practic my english. If i would not do that, i would forget a lot.

a nice Day for all

"grandpa" Ralf :wink1:
Please, feel free to correct all my mistakes. Thanks

Hi all,

it's interesting what the younger generation thinks about us "older" people: not interested in learning languagesand so on.. Me myself i have been always interested in learning languages- I speak fluently italian, very good french, a bit spanish and last year I even began to learn turkish..
;-) ..
but U'r also right: learning/ practizing english actually it's mainly for the job.. but I like it! In my younger days ;-) I didn't like english (pronouncing) but I changed my opinion, today I'm enjoying speaking it!

I think Paula didn´t say nothing negative.
From my point of view, youngerst aren´t very keen on speaking with "older" people I mean they search rather for the same-age friends even if it´s only for practising English. In addition, I think it is also easier to find the bilateral topic.
Nevertheless I admire everybody here, it´s really a drudgery (for me at least) to memorize all the new words, it is not as I was twenty. :spin:

I don´t think I have any problem with my age (yet). What I wrote is only my experience in other forum (Czech forum written in English). I´m the oldest one there, but besides the supervisor and one 30 year old guy nobody else reacts to my dues. But I must admit that there are teenagers mainly. I was sorry about that a little, because I can say that speaking/writing English always turns me into a good humour. That´s why I tried to find another forum.

Just wanted to say something...

I decide to respond to a topic by reading it, not by checking the profile of the author.

I even didn't know your age and although I read them just now, I forgot in the same minute. It doesn't matter.

It's a forum, you can be as young as you want, nobody would see.
