"Very" als Adjektiv

Das Wort very (sehr, überaus) wird nicht nur als Adverb vor einem Adjektiv mit der genannten Bedeutung gebraucht.

Ebenso kann very als Adjektiv vor einem Substantiv verwendet werden. Im Deutschen wird es in diesem Fall mit sogar/genau/gerade/bloß/noch ....
übersetzt.

Beispiele:

..this very morning........./noch heute Morgen

..the very contrary........./das genaue Gegenteil

..the very idea............./schon der Gedanke

..her very words............/ihre eigenen Worte

...at the very name of....../schon beim Namen von.../beim bloßen Namen

...in the very beginning/ gleich am Anfang

In the March issue of Spotlight I found the follow sentence:
...many Jamaicans die at the hands of the very people who are supposed to protect them - the police.
With your explanations this could be the meaning:
The people who kill and protect them are the same. In German "genau die Leute, die sie beschützen sollen, töten sie"
Can you agree this?

I think you appreciate it much to have the oppurtunity of studying English at the company you work at? It's the same to my friend , she is taught English by the Business Spotlight which can be very difficult sometimes.

May I correct your sentence :

Since two years I have been learning English in our firm once a week.
