Please suggest which one of the following sentences is correct -
a) When all your dreams will fade away, I'll still shine as reality!
b) When all your dreams fade away, I'll still shine as reality!
Is this conditional sentence type 1 that needs to have a grammatical syntax of when + simple present (sub clause) + will (simple future, main clause)?
Thanks

Have a nice evening!Sansy hat geschrieben:Hi Sansy and welcome!![]()
Please suggest which one of the following sentences is correct -
a) When all your dreams will fade away, I'll still shine as reality! Not really grammatical.
b) When all your dreams fade away, I'll still shine as reality! Yes, yes, yes!![]()
As a rule we find the
Present Tense in the subordinate time- or conditional clause
and the
Future Tense in the main clause.
(Exception: "will" meaning "want to" or "be willing to")
Is this conditional sentence type 1 no, it is a time clause, a conditional clause would begin with "if"
that needs to have a grammatical syntax of when + simple present (sub clause) + will (simple future, main clause)?
Thanks
Duckduck

Hi Sansy :)Sansy hat geschrieben:b) When all your dreams fade away, I'll still shine as reality!
Sentence B is correct grammatically, as Duckduck already explained. However, I don't understand the second part of the sentence (what I underlined above). Could you explain what you mean by "as reality"?

Re: Plz. Correct the sentence
Hi Duckduck, thanks a lot for the warm welcome and helping me out with such a great explanation. I totally agree with you.
It seems I need to revise clauses and their rules more meticulously now.
Gratitude and regards,
Sansy
