The text deals with the onset of puberty which is connected to lots of complicated problems teenagers have to face in this time.
At the beginning of the text the author defines the onset of puberty as a lifetime in which the body completely changes and teenagers have to cope with lots of mood swings as well as lack of motivation in school. Besides, teenagers become sexually active, though most don't want to. Other teenagers, in contrast, even claim that losing virginity is part of puberty as well. However, this at least clarifies why such a huge number of teenager pregnancy are available, nowadays.
Emancipating oneself from the parents, is the reason why teenagers are mostly involved in conflicts with their parents.
Nevertheless, studies recently have shown that a strong relationship with one or both parents can seemingly help young people preventing themselves from drugs and alcohol.
Last but not least, the future as well has a significant role in a teenager's life. Teenagers start to make their own decisions and try to find their goals in life.
Most teenagers, however, don't know what to study after school, which is why they believe that doing a gap year at first is the best solution.
