Hello everybody
I’m new here. I want to improve my English. I had English in the school for years ago… Now I want to use English again.
I’m looking someone who correct my English short textes or who want to be my penfriend!
I’m a Chinese girl and I was grown up in Switzerland.
I’m looking forward the answers.

Re: I'm looking for penfriend
1 - "in the school" means "in the building called school". However, you need to leave the article out in this sentence, because "school", here, has an abstract meaning along the lines of "as part of my education".xinxin hat geschrieben:Hello everybody

2 - In the present tense unless the subject is either "I" or "you" or a plural word, you always need the -s ending.
You're never too old to learn something stupid.

I only use my gut feeling and Google to check something.
Compared to me you are a so much more knowledgeable person
in regard to the use of the English vocabulary and English grammar.
I always assumed that you've been studying English at university
(like Duckduck, Keswick, George and others). Am I right?

Re: I'm looking for penfriend
As a matter of fact, so do I. When I write a correction I first mark all parts of a text that "trip me up". I must have skipped that part of the sentence though, because that would have caught my eye. I would remember if it had, though.Delfino hat geschrieben:I only use my gut feeling and Google to check something.
Not exactly, but not very far off. My English knowledge is a result of my special interest in the internal structures of languages. I've also taken courses in general linguistics and computer linguistics at university, though.Compared to me you are a so much more knowledgeable person
