Re: Let's talking about serfs
I personally think that hardly anyone will know the word SERF, as it is quite an old word. I am curious, why do you use serf instead of servant, is there a reason, i.e. have you read the word in a certain context? Also, what is your opinion on it? Maybe that'd be a good way to kick off a conversation.

Re: Let's talking about serfs
Personally, I make a difference between servant and serf. I exclusively use serf for someone in serfdom whilst a servant can also mean someone who's paid for their services.

Re: Let's talking about serfs
Well yes, you've got a point there, however serfs were paid indirectly by being provided with land they could use, protection and other advantages (and certainly disadvantages as well). I am still intrigued to find out why someone is interested in opinions on such an old.. how should I say.. circumstance maybe?
