What are your favorite English words?

I like Englisch words which make me laugh when I hear them for the first time. Haberdashery is one of them.

But the German translation "Kurzwaren" made me laugh, too. What a German word! Does it mean "sewing kit" only or does it also stand for other little (short?) things? Such as: - oh, now I have no idea of other little things - it's early in the morning, you now, and I haven't had my coffee yet.

Maybe it sounds a little bit strange for you, but I really like the verb "to digest". You can use it in the context of many different situations and it has a nice sound. :jo:

I really like the word "freesia" . I don not know what it means, but I read it in the twilight novel and I think it is some kind of flower, right? Anyway, it sounds so nice

Yay, I just found a new word for "delete MS Windows"

My latest favourite is "punny" because it is punny. ... Oh well, I can probably do better than that...

Ha, good one, tiorthan! How about if you 'deleted' it by chucking your Windows running computer out of the window? That would give the pun a pleasing "completeness", in my opinion.

Back to our favourites - when I was younger, I was a big fan of "antidisestablishmentarianism", which I considered at the time to be quite a long word! Of course, that was before I started learning German...

(All the Germans in the room are now thinking, "Long word?! I was saying words longer than that when I was six months old! In my sleep!")

I'd totally do that. If only my clients would agree that defenestration by defenestration was an acceptable buisiness-model.
