Since you expressed your believe in the existence of God, may I kindly ask you to explain
what did God himself do in the last 15 years? Any documented actions? ...
I hope, you see this as an opportunity to practise your English and your argumentative skills.

Exactly!

@AbcMyCraft
I can imagine that it is hard to look at your faith objectively. This is obvious
as your reply to my question doesn't include any reasoning or argument.
Unfortunately, you just stated your feelings based on your believe.

Unless you have any tangible evidence that God was always present
where you have been in the last 15 years.

Hi guys,

I understand your curiosity, but don't you agree that answering a question such as "Why do you believe in God" is very difficult? I mean, people believe in things that are not facts, facts are not believed, they're understood. Every time I say "I believe" I naturally indicate that I am referring to something non-factual . So how to explain something non-factual? How do I explain feelings? I personally could not explain my beliefs or feelings fully and to be honest, I don't think it is necessary to do so either, as they're MY feelings and beliefs.

Asking someone WHY they believe in God is the same as asking someone why they believe in love, why they believe in pink (as Audrey Hepburn said), why they believe in miracles etc. It's every person's own perception and more often than not questions like "why do you believe..?" lead to unnecessary arguments that never achieve any kind of consent anyway.

Just my 2 pence.

Yes, I know that answering such a question is very difficult,
but it should be possible to review the sources of one's religious views
and to state the result as objective as possible.

in contrast to love and taste which are very personal emotions and views
(which are based on the vast multitude of impressions throughout ones life,
see the impact of society on different fashion and beauty ideals in history...)
religious people seldom admit that their faith is based on non-factual things and emotions.

Most religions emerged in times with a lot more uncertainty (regarding the environment people live in etc.).
The story of supernatural beings or god(s) watching over people is a very comforting and calming idea.

The "religious message" is also often communicated as an undoubted fact,
which is very intentional, I think, to use the awe of knowledge in combination
with the authority of more experienced elders (e.g. parents, priests ...)
to imprint this person with their religious belief.

The repetition of any such statements (in sermons) throughout a prolonged period (e.g. childhood)
utilises the psychological effect called priming which creates a habit of automatic reaction.
The holy book of many religions is adding to the "sing from one sheet" response in believers
with the same faith.

All believers are born without knowledge of any religion.
Therefore, everything people know about 'their' religion has been communicated to them.

The individual process that leads to love, taste etc. is much more complex and never-ending,
but most importantly the resulting mix of impressions and genes is unintentional.
(e.g. you cannot chose to be straight/gay...)

Religion on the other hand has often been used to influence people for good and bad reasons...
