The Big Wasting Machine

The first step to make our planet more eco-friendly should be teached at school. You and many other pupils spend half a day at school. You know that there are over 25 classrooms which means 250 lamps, 50 computers, and so on. Imagine, if every single person at school would go green, the world would become healthier. It sounds so easy, but why aren’t we doing something about this problem?

Firstly, the pupils don’t do enough to change the situation at school. For example, they open the windows, but don’t close them at the end of the lesson. The classroom becomes cold overnight and then we have to switch on the heating. Therefore the last person who leaves the room should check if the windows are closed. However, the lamps in the building are switched on the whole day, but we could switch them off, if we are not using the classroom.

Moreover, if we consider these little details which make a big difference, school would save a lot of money. Green schools make a good impression not only because they’re healthier but also because they’re becoming more cost efficient to build and operate than anyone ever imagined.

In conclusion, green schools save money and affect the environment in a positive way. If school doesn’t have the money for building solar panels, there are anyway people like you who could pay attention to these little things like close the windows and switch off the lights when leaving the room.
