You need to pay much more attention to basic rules (e.g. capitalisation and punctuation).
Otherwise your attempt to learn English cannot be taken very serious.

Most of you try to be ready to use English in some kind of professional environment
which does not accept smileys as a replacement of punctuation marks.

Hi all,
what has become of the idea of a Skype meet-up?
I'm asking because talking to other people in English now and again is exactly what I'm looking for.
As I'm 16 at the moment, I learn English in school and I am happy to see how my writing skill is improving, generally, my grasp of English is constantly getting better and I am very happy about that. But still, as probably everybody of you knows from experience, talking isn't exactly the thing you practise most in common English classes. Up to now, I didn't really feel the wish to look for somebody unknown to talk English with, but I've spent a couple of weeks in Britain this summer and I've started to like communicating a lot. Talking about culture in various countries and parts of the world and the differences between people's attitudes is something I particularly enjoy. Of course I'd be most happy if any native English person approximately my age would show interest, but I am used to - and I enjoy to - talking to adults as well and I'm not the average teenager who's mainly interested in pop music, mobile phones and parties, but lots of different things.
Of course, I would also help my partner with German and I'd love to tell him/her about the German language, as well as German / Austrian customs, recipes, attitudes and the like.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards
Ibex

Not bad, a few minor errors.

I'm happy that I found this post. I'm a student the same age as you, currently living in America. I'd like to improve my German, and help you with your English. I've been learning German for about 1 year in school, but I'm ahead of my classmates since I study outside of school a lot. I'd like an overseas native speaker to practice with. Like you, I have a lot of interests, and not just typical teenager interests.

Anyway, if you are interested, please send me a message. We can practice with each other on Skype.
